Sergey Stanishev

Sergey Dmitrievich Stanishev (Bulgarian: Сергей Дмитриевич Станишев [sɛrˈɡɛj stɐˈniʃɛf]; born 5 May 1966) is a Bulgarian politician who is serving as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP). He previously served as President of the Party of European Socialists from November 2011 to October 2022, Prime Minister of Bulgaria from 2005 to 2009, Leader of the Bulgarian Socialist Party from 2001 to 2014 and Member of the National Assembly from 1997 to 2014.
