Mintimer Shaimiev
Mintimer Sharipovich Shaimiev (Shaymiyev, Tatar: Минтимер Шәрип улы Шәймиев, romanized: Mintimer Şərip ulı Şəymiev; Russian: Минтиме́р Шари́пович Шайми́ев; born January 20, 1937) is a Russian former politician who served as the president of Tatarstan from 1991 to 2010. He was re-elected president in 1996, 2001, and 2005.
