Jaffar Hussein

Jaffar bin Hussein (11 June 1931 – 11 August 1998) was a Malaysian banker and economist who served as the 4th Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia from 1985 to 1994.

In this Malay name, there is no surname or family name. The name Hussein is patronymic, and the person should be referred to by their given name: Jaffar. The Arabic-derived word 'bin' or 'binti' / 'binte', if used, means 'son of' or 'daughter of', respectively.
