Federal Security Force (Pakistan)

The Federal Security Force (FSF) was a paramilitary and secret police force in Pakistan, established in 1972 by then-President of Pakistan, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. It was created as a civil task force of the federal government, intended to serve as a substitute for the use of army personnel in civilian affairs, mainly to protect civil leadership such as the prime minister and opposition leader. The FSF was also tasked with assisting the civil administration and the police in maintaining law and order, thereby averting the need to deploy the military.
