Robert Jacob is a Computational Climate Scientist in the Mathematics and Computer Science division. He is also a fellow in the Argonne-University of Chicago Computation Institute. He received his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Throughout his career, he has been strongly involved in the development and application of climate models. He is the lead developer of the Fast Ocean Atmosphere Model, a fully coupled climate model, and a co-developer of the Model Coupling Toolkit. His current interests include long-term climate variability, the role of the ocean in climate change, paleoclimate, and high-performance computing applications to scientific problems.
