I live in the midwestern United States, Missouri to be exact. I have lived here my whole life, more of a small town kind of person I guess. I am 36 years of age and I have only recently begun my foray into web design and development. I also have a strong passion for science and astronomy, and I love my sports as well but those are my hobbies and as much as I love them, they are only enjoyed when I have the time.

I went on disability about 10 years ago, long story, but this turned out to be a good thing as it gave time to do the things I love. I have always had an affinity for electronics and technology but I just never really had the time to really turn it into anything. I still didn't really get into web development until after quite a few years after I went on disability. It all started a few years after that when I finally decided to build my own computer, which I still love doing, which really got me going. Loving the hardware side of things naturally led me to the software side and eventually I took the plunge and started learning web design and development.

I have taught myself through books mostly but also through online tutorials (Code Academy anyone?). Online communities have also helped in a big way for those times I get stuck or just can't wrap my head around something and how it works. The thing that drives me to this and gives me passion to do it is that I have always loved a good puzzle. Most people dislike math but it intrigues me to no end and the logic side of software is just like that. That's why, even when something isn't working right I am still having fun doing it (even if it is also frustrating at the same time). Also, I hope to get into software development, starting with Android apps, after I am able to get the web developments skills to a comfortable level of understanding.

Anyways, that's how I got here - the short version anyways - and though for a while I am sure I will be asking more answers than answering, I do hope to turn those tables one day and be the one giving out the answers.

I feel somewhat like an inverse tangent function that's approaching an asymptote.
