My name is Andreas Lau, I am a 22 year old Programmer from Germany. I have been into game development since I was 14 years old and I have always had a passion for games. I play a lot of games in my free time covering a lot of genres. My favorites are platformers and point-and click adventures though.
I also have a big passion for all sorts of Board Games. I like Pen and Paper games and I used to play different Tabletop games. I love to get together with friends and sit down to play card games. 'Munchkin' is one of my favourites at the moment.
I started making games with my friends using tools like the GameMaker or the RPG-Maker, and this then lead to me learning how to program my own games in a very game oriented programming language called Blitz Basic. I then entered a work oriented school where I learned to program in java which was rather easy, knowing the basics of programming. After I finished school I knew I wanted to keep developing games, but due to a lack of opportunity I then started college in a computing course. Fortunately I had to option to go on an exchange program to Ireland. There I spent one year in a Game Development course, which I liked so much, that after that I enrolled into the course and finished an additional year in it. Which leaves me basically where I am right now. I finished both of my studies and I received both of my degrees.
Over the year I gained experiences in many programming languages, but my strongest two are definitely C# and C/C++. For the past 3 years I have mainly developed games in Unity using C#, but I have been developing other software using C and C++.
