I am a graduate student in the Psychological Research Program at Texas State University that recently picked up an independent study to learn. My professor for this independent study feels the best method of learning coding is to work on a project with it. Thus, she has provided me with a data set and assigns me a task to accomplish. Hopefully it all works out.

In the future I want to get a Ph.D in Quantitative Psychology. I love statistics, and by default I love the idea of code (despite not being terribly great at it yet). SPSS is limiting, and I feel R will not be.
