Every morning, I wake up eternally grateful to be where I am today. Born into a family of immigrants, I've been blessed with an appreciation for doing hard work and with the idea that nothing is impossible in this world.
And every day, I wake up excited, because new advances in technology are constantly stretching the limits of what is possible. As a 9 year old kid in 3rd grade, I remember how excited I was hearing about the first man who was tourist in space, and wondering when I would be able to take a trip. I felt that same excitement again, watching live when SpaceX launched and landed its Falcon 9 reusable rockets.
And every day, I wake up driven, to participate in the world, and to make a concrete difference in people's lives. My favorite of the UCLA True Bruin Values is without a doubt, "Service." And in no small part, my appreciation of service comes from my five years working at UCLA's Bruin OnLine Office, provide technical support for the whole campus. Assisting members from all the different parts of the UCLA community on a daily basis with their technical issues, I saw just how much impact our technology services help everyone's everyday life.
Today, I wake up on a mission, to find an engineering career where I will be able to design products or services that can truly make a difference in the lives of yet millions more.
