Free Software / Open Source guru with extensive startup and large company experience. Python Wizard. Rubyist. I live on Linux, in Emacs, over an ultra-composited flashy modern desktop.
Hire me to work on your desktop UI. I'm getting ready for GNOME-shell by bootstrapping my way into Javascript.
Currently building my own tools in the CoffeeScript language. It's a little bit beyond the bleeding edge.
"The first person to create a pleasant end-to-end system for programming JavaScript web applications wins the next five years of web development, period." Jeremy is right, and he's designed an outstanding language that targets exactly the right runtime. And you can just replace Perl, Python and Ruby and miss nothing. Not missing, in particular, are the deep elegances of Ruby and the clarity of Python.
My stack: CoffeeScript running on Node (see node.js). Install it with the cool npm package manager for Node. This gives you a command line compiler and interactive REPL like a good Lisp or Ruby's IRB.
