I am an IT QA Professional (sounds pretty formal doesn't it? I think the more common industry term is "TestMonkey")

I have been running teams, creating documentation (test plans, strategies, summary reports etc.) and using tools such as ALM and JIRA as a source of record for more than a few years now. I'm getting a little nervous about getting so far away from the toys (technical skills) and am focused on getting into automation testing (hands on).

My tool of choice is Selenium through IntelliJ and Maven in Java and Ruby. I'm thinking this will give me good hands-on experience with a simpler tool and I can eventually move into ALM LoadRunner.

If anyone has comments or feedback regarding this plan or toolset I am very anxious to hear you.

I live in Parker in beautiful Colorado with my beautiful Russian Girlfriend and our MonkeyBoy Alex (who knows, he may someday grow up to be some kind of ITMonkey himself :)).

I love cycling, running and hiking in the beautiful parks and trails all over Colorado.
