As a developer for the past decade I have used StackOverflow as reference on countless occasions to solve just about any programming/development issue I've encountered. After years of consuming StackOverflow in a "smash and grab" style, I have an interest in participating in the community so that it continues to be the valuable resource it has been for me.
My development background includes professional experience in MS SQL server, the .NET family (forms apps, web apps, windows services, web services, WCF) both VB and C#, VBA with extensive MS Access experience. I have done some modest web development and have a working knowledge of javascript and ASP (classic and .net).
I am currently playing around with Linux (Ubuntu on desktop and Raspbian on RaspberryPi) and using it to learn C++, Python, PHP, and MySQL in a Linux environment. I consider these pursuits to be hobbies as they're outside of my current professional scope, but you never know.
