A native speaker of a language with no grammatical gender or gender-based or gender-indicating pronouns, I use the pronoun hän to refer to me (accusative/direct object: häntä, genitive: hänen, dative/indirect object: hänelle). You use what you use or go by the CoC, which, given the utterly ungrammatical approach, makes no sense. But don't call me they. As an overweight person, I take offense in being referred to in a plural, as if my obesity made me more than one person.
