Neuroscientist with an interest in information processing, learning and intelligence (both biological and artificial).
I want to know how the brain creates meaning within the biophysical constraints of its 3-pound fatty tissue.
I believe that those seeking to create artificial intelligence have much to learn from neuroscience, the study of the only known source of true intelligence in the universe. I also believe that neuroscientists can learn a lot about the nature of intelligence from those who have abstracted it away from the biological realities of the brain.
Research interests include:
- Neural signal processing
- Neural information representation
- Neuronal Networks (including biological brains, biophysically-detailed computer simulations, and simplified "neural net" models popular with computer scientists these days)
- Learning and memory
I am currently studying the process of synaptic integration, to what extent signals transform as their currents flow through a single neuron.
If you want to talk to me, I probably want to talk to you. PM me to chat about anything related to neuroscience, learning, intelligence, AI, the brain, etc.
