February, 2017: I am learning SQL Server and currently preparing for Exam 70-461, Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (MCSA). I already do basic SQL Server querying, including importing text file lists and joins, to occasionally prepare list-style exhibits for legal documents.

Experience includes:

  • SSMS, PHPEdit
  • Integrating Access and Crystal Reports with data from SQL Server.
  • Using MySQL, PHP and XAMPP from a local PC on network for a special project. I also partially developed a website that used MySQL and PHP to be lesson planning tool for teachers.
  • User and Network support. Exposure and use of some programs and utilities like SyncBack, PuTTY, TrueCrypt, StorageCraft's ShadowProtect, Smoothwall, DD-WRT, FileZilla, remote server backup scripts and local PC retrieval of backup files over secure connection
  • Microsoft Office - including Access/SQL Server/Word merge forms for frequently occurring document preparation tasks.

  • Checking for proper compliance and practices for data protection, disaster recovery, security, etc.

Certifications, etc.:

  • MTA: Windows Operating System Fundamentals.
  • State of Florida: Licensed Title Agent & Commissioned Notary Public
  • Florida Bar: Florida Registered Paralegal
  • B.S. Management (Entrepreneurship), Southern Illinois University

Most of my work has been in managerial roles. Part of that has meant low- to mid-level technical support, troubleshooting and deployment. But it also has meant looking for opportunities to use technology to improve efficiency. For example, we used Access and Crystal Reports to batch print a form for large quantities of documents going to a government agency. The agency only provided a PDF we would were supposed to fill in and print. I have personally developed some of the Access utility apps we use and also coded the Crystal Reports.
