17 years as an IT professional, and another 13 years as a student and enthusiast right back to childhood. I've variously been a software engineer, a sysadmin, an occasional DBA and an operations manager; in fields as diverse as medical technology, defence, visual effects, trading platforms and investment research, and mobile messaging.

Beginning programming with C64 Basic as an 80's kid, over the years I've worked with all the usual suspects: C/C++, Java, Python, Objective-C, HTML/CSS/JS/JQuery, various LAMP stacks, MySQL and PostgreSQL. I've done a little bit of NoSQL, I've messed about with d3, and I keep telling myself I'll get back into OpenGL.

A highly visual person, my interests have always been around Human/Computer Interaction, and sometimes I've been lucky enough for that to be the job, as well.
