Have been involved with TFS since it's first release in 2005 up to present as a TFS Administrator and Architect. Before TFS, the source control craze was Microsoft Visual Source Safe with the last release of this product in 2005. I've heard all the VSS horror stories and it's mainly because they weren't managed well.
