I'm implementing a design and trying to utilize the themeroller as much as possible. However, I'm also using DataTables a lot, and the table head is taking on the color scheme of the ui-widget and ui-state-default components. Because of this, I'd like to have 2 separate themes, one for general widgets and page theme, and one specifically for tables.

My question is, the file-name that is downloaded for any theme is jquery-ui-1.8.18.custom.css which is non-descriptive. It comes in a directory titled mysite-theme, which in turn comes in a directory named css, which is in a directory called jquery-ui-1.8.18.custom

What's the barest minimum of files I am required to have in my css directory? There is a js directory and a couple js files, along with the development bundle. Can I separate the js dir from the css dir? Can I rename the jquery-ui-1.8.18.custom.css file to be something akin to mysite-theme, and have another one like mysite-theme-tables?

If I use scoping, I'll still have file-names that are identical to each other, even if the parent directories are named differently. That's my concern.

  • That's not what I mean. The question is about keeping file names easy to read and know what stylesheets are controlling certain style elements. – Jon Mitten Mar 22 '12 at 18:51
