I have only just started learning how to use Godot and all the tutorials on YouTube are really unhelpful for just actually learning how to do the simple things

I haven't really been able to try anything because I don't have any experience with coding in Godot (or any engine other than scratch for that matter, but scratch doesn't really count)

  • Welcome to Stack Overflow. Please take the [tour] to learn how Stack Overflow works and read [ask] on how to improve the quality of your question. Then [edit] your question to include your source code as a working [mcve], which can be tested by others. Please show your attempts you have tried and the problems/error messages you get from your attempts. It is unclear what you are asking or what the problem is. – Progman Sep 02 '23 at 21:20
  • I'd need to understand your struggle with existing tutorials to help you. And guess what, question should be about the thing that you struggle with. In this case a question of the form "I want to do X, and in this tutorial it says that the way to do it is Y, but when I do Y I get Z not X" would be good. Or in your case, since you haven't even tried, probably something like "What does it mean when in this tutorial they say X" would be a good starting point. And, btw, there are tutorials that are not in YouTube. See https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/community/tutorials.html – Theraot Sep 03 '23 at 01:42
