I've tried installing the latest Chef Workstation versions 23.7.1042 as well as stable version 22.7.1006. I try installing with the Mac as well as the Windows VM, but I keep getting this error repeatedly from the 2 attached screenshots, this Javascript error with uncaught exception: Error: dialog module can only be used after app is ready is the 1st error I kept getting. Then, I tried installing Chef via Homebrew commands, thinking that would work fine, but at the last second before installing Chef I get this pop up error on 2nd screenshot as Uncaught Exception: Error: Failed to load image from path '/Applications/Chef Workstation App.app/Contents/Resources/app.asar/assets/Images/iconLightTemplate.png' at displayNotification etc(details) in the Screenshot. Can someone please tell me what's wrong on each line or what I exactly need to fix as I'm newer to programming and am not understanding how to resolve this error permanently?

1st Screenshot 2nd Screenshot

As I mentioned, I'm completely lost as to what I can do. First time with 1st Screenshot, I kept getting it installed till the last second where it gave me a Javascript error yet in some cases still installed it, but when I opened the program on my Mac or Windows I'd get the exact same error. Have I messed up some internal file structure or some DLL file somewhere that I'm having this issue? Cuz I don't recall doing that, I've also done the Autorun.exe on Windows file along with %AppData% and %LocalAppData% bit to fix it but same problem. I've also clicked one of the Windows items regarding a Video / Windows screen that I need to turn from Manual to Automatic, then press Apply and Okay to fix it but that also doesn't work. In short I'm super lost and can't fix an error I've never encountered below and need y'alls help please!

  • But how does this have anything to do with Code, when I'm just using homebrew to install, using installer package to install, and its giving me errors in both cases? What do I even do next, i'm clueless, there's no code just a launch error I keep getting, so how to resolve this? – Ray Lakhani Sep 03 '23 at 00:23
