I am somewhat familiar with battery modelling using thevenin equivalent models which use R to represent the batteries internal resistance and RC to represent the time constant for charge and discharge.

I have also seen models which use a different RC constant for charging and discharging as in reality they are not the same.

My question (and I can't find any info on this anywhere) is to do with cell relaxation. If you use a RCdischarge for discharging and a RCcharge for charging, then which (if any) would you use for relaxation?

My assumption so far is to use RCcharge for charging and relaxation IE current >=0 and RCdischarge for current <0.

Any ideas would be appreciated!
