I’ve got problem with setuping server on Ubuntu with Virtualmin and Cloudflare proxy.

Actually I’ve got two questions:

  1. What records or/and options I need to add/turn at Cloudflare so as to my Virtualmin server would still be main DNS server and have full control over subdomains names etc.? I want to use Cloudflare as proxy to handle potential ddos and to hide my server ip not as main DNS server.

  2. After successful Cloudflare and Virtualmin DNS configuration: Which certification method should i choose? Just flexible SSL from Cloudflare or maybe Let’s encrypt from Virtualmin?

I have configure mydomain.example to cloudflare's nameserver and have add DNS record ( A pointing at my_ip ) at Cloudflare, I have used at once Cloudflare's flexible SSL and Virtualmin's Let's encrypt - now I can access my page at mydomain.example but others subdomains that are specified on Virtualmin's DNS server are not respoding, when I alse added those domains to Cloudflare's DNS records it worked but still can't acces Virtualmin's panel at mydomain.example:10000 or admin.mydomain.example:10000.

I’m voting to close this question because , as the dns tag states: DNS QUESTIONS MUST BE PROGRAMMING RELATED. Use this tag for programming questions related to writing code that interacts with the Domain Name System (DNS); for example, writing code that uses gethostbyname() – Rob Sep 02 '23 at 08:52
