As of the last week or so around the second week of August 2023 many applications no longer are being launched by clicking URLS and instead opens a browser. Even with Reddit in the browser when I click view in app it does not launch the app. eBay does not function correctly or IG...some change broke most app link handling and I did not change settings.
What I thought was strange was when you go to manage supported links and try to toggle ebay.com or reddit.com in each respective applications settings It does not save the toggle. I believe this might be the culprit, but I'm not certain. Appears to be an Android issue... Though it's not universal as some other applications I'm able to toggle the switch and it keeps the settings unlike what you see in the below video
