After switching from Windows to Mac, one thing that I miss is MobaXterm. I was hoping MobaXterm came with a Mac Version, but it doesnt.

Is there any similar alternative to this on Mac. Even if it comes an an Extension on VSCode, that would work for me.

  • AFAIK, MobaXterm is a tool for Windows to help it try and get nearly as good as a Mac or Linux. Your Mac already is a Mac, so it doesn't need any help - all the goodness is baked in. – Mark Setchell Aug 26 '23 at 17:01
  • ohh is it. But the terminal looks bland and how do I keep all my remote servers instance details in one location. I had upto 20 remote server details on MobaXterm on my windows machine. How do I achieve that on a MAC. – frewper Aug 29 '23 at 16:32
  • Not too sure what you are getting at. You can keep all your `ssh` settings (port, usename, forwarding, IP address, keyfile) in `$HOME/.ssh/config`. You can keep a list of regular hosts in a text file and use it with `ansible` or **GNU Parallel**. If you really want to use an app, maybe look at **termius** or **blink** if you want to use `mosh` and sync with iPads in Apple ecosystem. – Mark Setchell Aug 29 '23 at 20:36
  • You may also like the *"Servers"* feature in **fig**, see https://fig.io – Mark Setchell Aug 30 '23 at 07:37
  • What I meant was, Mobaxtern could save multiple remote server configs which I could easily use, and dint not have to maintain the details separately somewhere. – frewper Aug 30 '23 at 15:58
