I recently stumbled upon Microsoft PowerToys, a set of utilities designed to enhance the Windows experience for power users. The utilities include tools like FancyZones, PowerRename, PowerToys Run, and others that look quite useful.

However, before integrating these into my daily workflow, I have some concerns regarding data privacy. Specifically, I'd like to know:

Data Collection: Does Microsoft PowerToys collect any user data such as usage patterns, file names, or content that I might be working with (e.g. when extracting text or resizing images)?

Data Transmission: Is data transmitted to external servers if it is collected? Is the transmission secure, and what encryption standards are used if any?

Data Usage: How is the collected data used by Microsoft or third parties? Is it used for analytics, advertising, or other purposes?

Compliance and User Control: Are there any settings within PowerToys to control what data is collected? How does this align with GDPR or other data protection regulations?

Any insights into the data privacy aspects of Microsoft PowerToys would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
