Am working on upgrading the james server from 2.3 to 3.8, upgrading to spring flavored version. Able to get it up and running but not able to get its behavior and functionality and its settings on handling the email transactions. I have couple of questions on this and any help is appreciated.

  1. The spool and deadletter tables in DB in v2.3 are no more available in v3.8, We have a monitoring on the spool table but since it no more exists (explicitly) in v3.8, how to handle this?
  2. In v3.8 the outgoing email copy is kept in the 'james_mail' table and not removed once sent. Is there a setting or config to handle this removal of outgoing email once sent.
  3. There are couple of flags in the james_mail table (like MAIL_IS_FLAGGED, MAIL_IS_DRAFT, MAIL_IS_DELETED, MAIL_IS_ANSWERED, MAIL_IS_SEEN.) whose usage is not understood as am not able to find any setting or config to handle them. Is there any setting/config to handle them?
  4. Is there a way to monitor the james server & DB via JMX?

Looking for settings to auto delete the outgoing messages copy that is currently saved on james DB - james_mail table as it is no more needed once the email is sent out.
