After successfully setup KVM for my Ubuntu Desktop 20.04 LTS, I decided to convert my Ubuntu Desktop to server for trying to achieved this setup:

  • When my computer boot on, it will automatically start the Windows 10 VM that already be installed and run well
  • Then virt-viewer will be set to full screen and --kiosk to windows 10 to prevent I accidentally exit out. All interaction with the Ubuntu server will be done through ssh that already installed.

Both will be done with bash script and crontab. However, after follow this guide to convert. When I type virt-viewer -f --kiosk <my VM domain>, it returned with this error:

Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused

(virt-viewer:1848): Gtk-WARNING **: 16:56:40:768: cannot open display:

I have tried to search for this problem but could not find any solutions, even turn on libvirt-daemon its still not worked. p/s: I saw a downvote, please understand that I'm not expert in Ubuntu or KVM like you and I have no other choice and cannot find any solutions on the internet. The computer I messed up is my boss's computer and if I cannot solved it I have to wipe every hard drive and reinstall ubuntu again. Please help me
