I built a website using Elementor with Wordpress. Bing webmaster tool has given a warning on my homepage stating that "HTML size is too long". The page is basic and not long. Also, no other pages on the site are listed with the same error even though some are considerably longer.

Anyone have any ideas what might be going on or simple fix?

Keep in mind I am not an expert web designer; hence the use of Elementor/Wordpress. Please explain any potential fixes like you're speaking to a third grader. :)

P.S. I tried to search for an answer but the only similar info I found was a previous post on this site that did not help mainly because I lack experience and know-how to follow the instructions within. I am computer savvy, but need a bit more detail when it comes to web design.

  • If you view source, you'll find your HTML is indeed long, even if it doesn't appear that big in the browser. Your theme appears to be embedding all of its CSS into the page, for example. – ceejayoz Aug 11 '23 at 18:29
  • Using my Devtools Network tab: your HTML is 241KB, CSS is 923KB over 33 separate requests (that's a *lot*!), JavaScript is 1.80MB over 29 requests (That's also a *lot*!, Fonts are 568KB over 12 requests, Images are 506KB over 11 requests. That's over In total that's 4.07MB and 90 requests – Chris Barr Aug 11 '23 at 18:34
  • Sounds so bad when you spell it out like that. Is there any simple-ish way to fix it short of learning CSS and JavaScript? – herbally Aug 11 '23 at 18:58
