I have been doing a lot of reading on 2-point correlation functions, and nothing has struck me as useful yet. I am trying to use Python to calculate 2-point spatial correlation functions for various features in an image (particle-particle; particle-cavity; cavity-crack; etc.). I have attached an example image that I am trying to analyze here: Sample grayscale image for analysis. Most of the articles I've come across deal with binary images, which this is not...it has multiple classes, and I am looking to figure out how to relate them to each other in 2D space. Should I look into correlcalc? or SciPy? Does anyone have experience with this kind of thing? Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried anything yet...I'm not sure which package will work best for this application or where to get started.
