I'm working on a VoIP PBX from Elastix. I would like to connect two VoIP PBX servers between two cities via a MikroTik router and via an optical cable, as each server has a totally different IP address than the other. How can i connect the two cities, since the first city can do voip phones connections with the other city

It worked for me to connect locally between two phones on the same server, and it also worked for me to connect on two different servers, but on the same ip range. It also succeeded for me to connect 2 Elastix PBX on one ip range only. It does not work for me to connect 2 Elastix PBX on two different ip ranges.

Your question relates to a master-slave configuration. One server is registered as an extension to the master server. That server registers to the master server as a trunk. You can then allow bidirectional traffic for termination and origination.

Since Elastix is asterisk based, trunk and extension configurations follow the basic flows and routings.
