Recently we are trying to find out a way to customize system template themes for our application. As we only consider our application only, not system widely, the RRO seems to be an option.
But after reading the documents, I still have questions on how RRO actually works and thus cannot make a decision for next step.
- Does RRO work only for system applications?
- Doe RRO Apks are built with the system build (because it defines an .mk script, which confuses me most)?
- What's the relationship between RRO and car-lib-ui? It seems that RRO is one of the car-lib-ui functionalities, and only works for applications that already depends on car-lib-ui (some system applications).
- A CarHost application is downloaded from Google Play when the Automotive OS emulator first time run an application. The CarHost implements CarHost binder services and manages rendering, depending on car-lib-ui library. And in such case, can replacing system resources be done by defining RRO in our own applications?
