I am wondering if I can receive assistance on calculating a field with specific restrictions in Tableau.

Specifically, I am aggregating a variable ("Total Children") by geography using this underlying data (photos attached: underlying data & visualization). When I implement all the 5 filters I need ("age group", "income", "labor force participation", "program", "provider type"), I get the correct sums of "total children" according to the underlying dataset. But I would only like the aggregation to apply to 3 of the 5 filters, and to not apply to the two other filters ("program", "provider type").

Thus, lets say specific selections of the 3 filters I do want included are Toddlers from "age group", <100% FPL from "income", and adults in the labor force from "labor force participation". If the sum of "Total Children" for a specific geography among these selections is, say, 400, I want this to remain as 400 despite selection of other elements in filters "program" & "provider type". I do not want this total to be reduced when specific elements of the "program" & "provider type" are selected.

The reason I need this underlying dataset disaggregated by all these filters is because I have a different variable ("Total Children Served") included in the dataset which I DO want filtered by all the elements (and have done that successfully).

How do I write a calculated field that excludes filters of aggregation in Tableau based on this underlying data?

thank you

I have tried adding different versions of the same dataset and linking to the current project but the filters don't apply to all the variables.
