Having trouble getting custom purchase event firing - after speaking with google rep this is how it is currently looking but not sure what the issue is.

Have tried following along with tutorials to create this e-commerce tag but issue with not having dataLayer.
Then spoke with Google rep who set up a separate purchase event and add to cart event.
I passed along the message to the developer of our site to add dataLayer.push code for each of the event tags but no luck.
Now at this stage where i'm not sure if the issue is with the backend of the site or google tag manager.
If someone could help point me in the right direction feel more confused than before.
