My configuration is composed of the laptop and an external monitor.

The problem is that if a define the external monitor as primary display (i want to keep the laptop closed immediately after the boot), there's no problem and the greeter shows correctly on the external monitor. But if i disconnect the external monitor (e.g i'm away from home), LightDM's greeter doesn't appear on the laptop's display, showing a black screen. This (i think) because i set the external monitor as primary display.

To set the external monitor as primary display i used the following in the lightdm.conf, in the display-setup-script:

xrandr --output HDMI-1 --mode 1920x1080 --primary

How can i specify to LightDM to recognize the available monitors and show the greeter on a certain monitor, otherwise on another?

Or, is it possible to show the greeter on every available display?

P.S. If it would help, i'm using LightDM with a webkit2 greeter theme.
