We have a cluster having the provision XCAT. I want to install the nrpe addon provided by the Nagios on the compute nodes in the cluster. I dont have much knowledge of xcat as i am a newbie, but as far as my knowledge to facilitate this we can install the nrpe addon on the os image on the chroot path of the master node and then just want to reboot the compute nodes. The os image on the chroot path of master node will be recieved to the compute node with the nrpe add on in it. Is this the way how the installations occur or if not please do elloborate on how to provide the installations on the compute nodes using such method.
I want the installations of nrpe on the compute nodes using the master node chroot path concept. Also it would be helpful if someone can explain the concept of chroot path on the cluster.
