I am new to Veins and Omnet++ and currently working upon a simulation senario. I have successfully setup environment and run veins 5.2 demo application - Erlangen example. I am trying to understand how the messages are encapsulated and flow of information. I have read certain Omnet++ documenation, veins exmaple and Stackoverflow post.

Despite reading and following many posts, visualization is still not clear and I would like to clearly in-depth understand, how encapsulation works/is happening in Veins.

I have gone through following post: Which file to extend for customized messages in veins? What is the purpose of AirFrame11p.msg?

which says, "BSMs are packaged in MAC frames (80211Pkt), which in turn are encapsulated by AirFrame11p signals." It would be nice, if anyone could please explain how exactly encapsulatin works down the hierarchy.
