For several sources the video quality produced by VLC is much worse than the one produced by mpv. It looks as if this is an issue regarding interlacing, but I am not sure. At least, playing around with options of the deinterlacing menu did not help.

I created three screenshots which show the issue very good. Have a look at the sharp edges, which are ragged in the screenshots of VLC. You may find the screenshots at the end.

How can I configure VLC to produce an as good video quality as MPV does?
