Im trying to build a database of equipment in Access, and I need to trace circuit nodes downstream. The first table shows what is downstream from what. Column C is downstream from Column B, which is downstream from Column A, etc.
I need a Column D to show what is downstream from Column C using the information that is already in Column A. I got this to work in Excel by using VLOOKUPs to search for the yellow value, and return the blue value. I just cannot for the life of me get this to work in Access. The table below shows the desired output:
#N/A is an acceptable result as it tells me there are no major components downstream
