/node_modules/canvas: Command failed. Exit code: 1

Question

I run the same code on a linux based system and it works just fine. I am using an M1 Mac

This error appears when i run yarn

First Try installing the binaries for canvas mentioned in https://github.com/Automattic/node-canvas

sudo apt-get install build-essential libcairo2-dev libpango1.0-dev libjpeg-dev libgif-dev librsvg2-dev

Then install canvas:

npm install canvas
