No module named django.contrib.auth.hashers

Question

I am making a User Registration and Login website, wherein I am using Django. I have already executed pip install django[argon2] but the error No module named 'django.contrib.auth.hashers.Argon2PasswordHasherdjango'; 'django.contrib.auth.hashers' is not a package keeps on coming.

I have also tried to import django.contrib.auth.hashers in the terminal in the same working directory. It imports fine for django.contrib.auth.hashers, but as soon as django.contrib.auth.hashers.Argon2PasswordHasher is imported, it generates

I also tried commenting out the Argon2PasswordHasher and letting other hashers work, but it generated the same error for all hashers listed in PASSWORD_HASHERS

@SwatiSrivastava how does your error have this `'django.contrib.auth.hashers.Argon2PasswordHasherdjango'` how does the error have that `django` in the end? Are you showing the correct settings in the question? Or is there any place where you modify the settings during run time? @AbdulAzizBarkat even I have noticed this extra django, but can't figure out why is it showing. I haven't changed my settings.py and it is the same as I mentioned here — Swati Srivastava, Apr 10 '21 at 16:28

Things to note here is

django.contrib.auth.hashers is a package which is installed in your case.
But Argon2PasswordHasher is class inside package django.contrib.auth.hashers

so u need to import the class like

from django.contrib.auth.hashers import Argon2PasswordHasher

Also u can import entire package and use its classes, as shown below

import django.contrib.auth.hashers as hasher

hasher.Argon2PasswordHasher()

The OP does not import the class themselves they use the method `User.set_password` which will call code built into Django which uses `importlib` to import the class properly... – Abdul Aziz Barkat Apr 10 '21 at 12:42
