I'm aware that this has been asked before, but I'm not able to get it to work. The backend is sending the file using wb.write('filename.xlsx', res) but on the frontend, I just get an object response. How do I get the browser to download the .xlsx file instead?

Answer for front-end side,

You can write the axios code as follows:

At front-end side, we can extract file name along with extension from content disposition header. This is the same name that we set wb.write('Excel.xlsx', res);

  • That worked, thank you! I just needed to make sure that the extension of the file is correctly set, otherwise I received the file is corrupted message. Otherwise, everything else was good. – Joseph K. Dec 08 '20 at 11:09
  • I have modified the code please check, this time you will get the name from backend via content-disposition header. You don't need to worry about extension any more. – developerKumar Dec 08 '20 at 12:17
