I have managed to find the following code from StackOverflow:

How can I setup this logic? I'm using a commandline argument to actually start an alternate form. I'm using a commandline argument to cause an uninstallation and also calling some method to setup DB and logging. Similarly, I'm setting up culture and themes too. All this before the actual application run. Can anyone suggest?

If you simplify the Visual Basic-derived class you linked, you can just replace your current call to Application.Run(). This does depend on how you want to handle subsequent instances.

With the version below, just change you calls of: Application.Run(myForm) to SingleInstanceApplication.Run(myForm);

  • What you call your Application Logic code looks like your original Main() function. Keep it that way. Just get rid of the SingleInstance logic you added. – John Arlen Apr 28 '11 at 13:11
  • Err... I'm actually launching with different main forms based upon command line arguments. Are you suggesting that the main function wont re-execute upon secon instances? The block of code that I call `Application Logic` hold two lines: `Application.Run(new AppMDIRibbonDX());` and `Application.Run(new AppMDIRibbon());` I don't want my `Application Logic` code in the `SingleInstanceApplication` (`SingleInstanceController` in my original case) class. – DoomerDGR8 Apr 28 '11 at 14:01

    Okay, one more try. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I don't think so. I updated the post to have your entire 'application logic' in a main method. Replacing the App.Run as I've stated. – John Arlen Apr 28 '11 at 14:35
