So far i have tested acquiring images from a camera in the raw BGR8 format into a numpy array, I am at the point in which i can get access to the data however the image seems to have visible image artifacts (vertical lines etc) and only displays in greyscale.

The following code is used to acquire the image in BGR8 format:

EDIT for more context

After some reading into opencv and the following answer on SO i believe that it's a case of rotating the numpy array to match the default format

colorspace

Adding a larger image and transposing based on the above assumption ends up with the same format as opencv is expecting rows-to-cols, but the image is still greyscale, is squished & has artifacts as below (the text should be red and it should be taller as an image)

    It's still grayscale (and 3x wider than it ought to be), since you still have it as a single channel image. You need 3 channels for BGR. https://docs.scipy.org/doc/numpy-1.14.0/reference/generated/numpy.reshape.html – Dan Mašek May 03 '18 at 15:42

    Hmm. I'd really love to reproduce this here, what's `ctrl` (which object from which library). Can you perhaps provide some [mcve] that includes it as well? Or just dump the raw data you get from `GetImageWindow` into a file and upload it somewhere. – Dan Mašek May 03 '18 at 17:09
