  • It seems that the Google Drive file system driver is missing some support or behaving in an unexpected way. There are several issues in GitHub covering your problem. – double-beep Jan 06 '19 at 16:26

Your headline is inaccurate. The "ls" command isn't missing, it's just not working on that filesystem. You should be able to run "ls /" and see good output even if it doesn't work on the CWD. – ewindes Jan 11 '19 at 17:22
  • If you open a Command Prompt and `CD` to your `G:\My Drive\test` directory, are you able to successfully run `DIR`, `DIR .` and `DIR ..`? What output do you receive for each of these commands? – 3D1T0R Jan 11 '19 at 20:01
  • This is a known bug: https://github.com/Microsoft/WSL/issues/2999. You just can wait for its resolution (or contribute) – arvymetal Jan 12 '19 at 04:04
