In the images below I have changed my directory to the mounted google drive file stream volume but i'm unable to use the ls command.

It seems that the Google Drive file system driver is missing some support or behaving in an unexpected way. There are several issues in GitHub covering your problem. – double-beep Jan 06 '19 at 16:26

1Your headline is inaccurate. The "ls" command isn't missing, it's just not working on that filesystem. You should be able to run "ls /" and see good output even if it doesn't work on the CWD. – ewindes Jan 11 '19 at 17:22

If you open a Command Prompt and `CD` to your `G:\My Drive\test` directory, are you able to successfully run `DIR`, `DIR .` and `DIR ..`? What output do you receive for each of these commands? – 3D1T0R Jan 11 '19 at 20:01
