Angularjs - Merging data between parent and child scope - Timesheet project

Question

I am reworking my code to angular for a timesheet project that ive done with javascript/jquery logic. I am trying to take advantage of the angular functions to get everything working smoothly but I am very confused on how to get this working on a ng-repeat table.

What I have is 2 seperate data sets where I hold the timesheet data (child data) and then the main data (Parent data). The child data contains the ID of the parent and I link them that way and then figure out a logic to merge the data to the appropriate row.

For the life of me I can't figure out how the logic should be in a ng-repeat this complex. Would anyone know an easy method to accomplish the same task?

This could be written this way.

First write a template that uses ng-repeat and renders the table over the variable say timesheet

Now declare timesheet to be an empty array in your controller. Like $scope.timesheet = []

Next in the processData function instead of forming the rw and appending, push it to the a temporary variable and finally assign it to $scope.timesheet. If the UI is bound to the timesheet variable properly then, data would be displayed automatically.

Thanks for the quick response, this makes sense to me however im stuck on how to merge the child to the correct parent so that ng-repeat can treat it as one source of data. im getting confused on how to push data so that the matching child / parent data gets put together correctly in a scope. Im gonna work on getting a jsfiddle of what I got so far in angular and maybe create another topic for this. – Daniel Ellison Apr 18 '17 at 17:24
