Current position on google maps

Question

i would like to show my current position on an android phone using google maps. Would the code below be able to show my current pos on google maps?

I cant test it, as i don't have an android phone. I can only run the emulator , which shows just a map of the world. — User358218, Nov 10 '10 at 05:20
Google maps runs perfectly fine on the emulator. You can send the emulator gps coordinates through DDMS — Falmarri, Nov 10 '10 at 20:20

If you only want to show your own location, than a MyLocationOverlay is probably easiest.

About not being able to test it in the emulator: You can test it. In Eclipse switch to DDMS Perspective and in the left you see "Emulator Control" there you can "Send" Locations below "Location Controls". This is as well described in the above tutorial.

Don't know i havent gone through the code but following code works for me:
