1

I developed an application that sends SMS (using SMSlib), when I execute my application on netbeans it works well and sends SMS without problem.

with the same PC exported runnable Jar, stops sending the SMS.

but when I execute my jar at the command line:

java -jar "D: \ dist \ Abs.jar"

the application runs well and sends the SMS, I copied the files as follows:

  • what you(Nadeem Shukoor ) said (You have not signed the jar file....) somble most logical especially when I see the "16 [AWT-EventQueue-0] INFO smslib. - Queue directory not defined Queued messages will not be saved to filesystem" in the stack trace. I think my jar is not allowed to write in the partition that contains the system files"c:". I will try to understand how to sign a jar and I'll try that. – Mehdi Dellegi Mar 30 '16 at 11:59

  • Add the content of javax.comm.properties from both your NetBeans version and your Windows standalone version to your question, obfuscating any connection details that you consider sensitive.   • Don't change the properties of the modem. It's the javax.comm.properties file that you may have to amend, I suspect. It will almost certainly have the port number defined in there, I think, unless there's another properties file being used in addition to that one.   • Try searching through your application's code to see where the port number is being set when you try to connect. It doesn't appear to be in this properties file. Or there may be some other application properties file where this configuration is being stored. It may help to also see the full stack trace. The exception you're getting is regarding an invalid port. What port does it use for comms when running in NetBeans? And check your properties files when you're running the JAR as a fat jar outside of NetBeans to see what you're setting as the port number. It may simply be empty or an invalid number e.g. "" or -1.

Ports can in the range 0 - 65535. Some are reserved and cannot be used. If you're using two identical ports on the same network interface, then you could run into a port conflict issue. Here's a way to check port issues via netstat.

  • Double check that you're not using the port twice as well. Listening on the same port in NetBeans as well as outside of NetBeans will cause an error. Change the port number to something else outside of NetBeans and see if it works. – ManoDestra Mar 30 '16 at 14:21

  • Your English is somewhat broken. I am not sure of what you're trying to say above. Change the port to a valid port number, such as 9000 and try again. This will eradicate any issues with shared ports or an invalid port range being used. – ManoDestra Mar 30 '16 at 14:36

  • You're running this JAR on Windows, right? You have 65536 ports, some of which are reserved and cannot be used - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_%28computer_networking%29. If you use the same port twice, you're going to run into conflict issues. If you use a reserved port, you will also run into issues. – ManoDestra Mar 30 '16 at 15:05

  • That's not your port. That's the network interface. You need to look to see which port is being used, not the interface, the PORT. It's a number in the range 0 - 65535. – ManoDestra Mar 30 '16 at 15:15

  • See my comment above on the question itself. You're changing the modem properties, rather than the application's .properties file. You need to change the application's properties file, which to me looks to be javax.comm.properties. – ManoDestra Mar 30 '16 at 15:31

Without stack trace it is hard to tell exactly the Issue, But it should be one of below:

  • You haven't signed the jar file, Please sign your jar file link
  • Missing required depended jar files
