This https://github.com/hazelcast/hazelcast/pull/5058 fixes similar issue but on target cluster itself. Clients of such cluster receive REMOVED events only. It's fairly easy to reproduce by adding client to clusterB in WanReplicationTest.willFireNewOnMergeEventAtReceivingCluster.
