So I have an RCP application.

It runs fine when I run it through the IDE but doesn't run when I use the product and gives out an error log as follows

Following is the code to my activator class.

package xxx;

import org.eclipse.jface.resource.ImageDescriptor;
import org.eclipse.ui.plugin.AbstractUIPlugin;
import org.osgi.framework.BundleContext;

public class Activator extends AbstractUIPlugin {
    public static final String PLUGIN_ID = "xxx";
    private static Activator plugin;
    public Activator() {
        plugin = this;
    }
    public void start(BundleContext context) throws Exception {
        super.start(context);
    }
    public void stop(BundleContext context) throws Exception {
        plugin = null;
        super.stop(context);
    }
    public static Activator getDefault() {
        return plugin;
    }
    public static ImageDescriptor getImageDescriptor(String path) {
        return imageDescriptorFromPlugin(PLUGIN_ID, path);
    }
}

Can someone please help me!!!

  • `Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: xxx.Activator`. Have you actually created an `Activator` class? Has it been included in the build? – greg-449 Jul 31 '15 at 11:29
  • I do have an Activator. I have no included my activator class. – Rabin Aug 02 '15 at 02:54
  • To those who may be interested. The issue arose form rcp not finding one of the jar files. Maybe this could be a helpful hint for others. Thanks for all you helps. – Rabin Aug 19 '15 at 05:56
