Hello i am trying to upload a data to my server, but my requirement is if the uploaded content is a large file and if the connection is disconnected we need to upload the same file from where it stopped and not to start again. I can upload my file normally to the server but i am unable to resume my upload.. Is there any other way i can do this?? Following is my code.

I can make the code work on localhost but i have an issue using it on server as my data is not chunked and saved on server

  • I'm not quite sure, but don't forget to validate if the file that is being uploaded is not a malicious PHP script, it could easily compromise your server ;) – Paradoxis Nov 27 '14 at 08:42

    What you want doesn't seem to be implemented in that project; what you should look for is a project that supports file chunking. – Ja͢ck Nov 27 '14 at 08:43
  • @Ja͢ck : I am actually finding for something like that, that could be implemented in my php project... another solution could be file streaming and recording the data but i don't know if it is possible to record the data while uploading – Rebecca Nov 27 '14 at 09:21
  • I ended up writing something from scratch that's capable of uploading a file using multiple chunks at a same time as well as individual chunk retries. Perhaps someone else has an OSS solution for that. – Ja͢ck Nov 27 '14 at 09:25

You need to read file into string with jQuery, cut that string into pieces, and the upload each piece separately.

you can try this "resumablejs" http://resumablejs.com/, it will create the chunk of data and send it into server side, from server side you could create original file from received chunks.
